In breach of galactic law. Focus: Denounce <Awakened empire name>
The fallen empires awakened and war in heaven started. Soon after, the galactic community started this vote (i didn't initiate it). Right after it was passed, EVERYONE is now in breach of galactic law having numerous penalties applied to us.

I can't seem to figure out how to remove this resolution. And I really don't understand why we're all in breach? Why would we even vote for this if it affects everyone this badly?

I'm very confused

If you denounce only one side, everyone who did not join the opposite side will end up in breach...

Oh i see. Most factions decided to not side with anyone. As did I. But they still decided this was a good idea to pass. Seems kinda counter intuitive to cripple ourselves at the worst possible time. Thanks for clearing that up :)

how do you reverse it anyway?

Just happened to me as well. War in Heavens errupted, most did not join either side, the denouncement passed and everyone suffers from the breach in galactic law.

There is no way to denounce the other side. It really ruins the game.

Look up the reverse decision for that policy and propose it using influence. Sadly such silly votes do happen and you probably have to wait a while before you can make the counter proposal, which (even when 90% would strongly benefit) might even have 'weak support' at first.

So I generally go for council member or custodian and regularly check what empires are proposing and down-vote or veto anything that I deem problematic (which is a lot).

You need to insult them both.

I though i should get the option to denounce the fallen empire by passing this focus.

Just leave that stupid incompetent galatic community!
This match I'm playing is preposterous. War in Heaven starts, I side with one that's right on my border, not realizing it'd make me their *****, they tax my energy into deficit just as the galaxy erupts in war. Oh! And then the Unbidden show up too. I've had to God mode cheat just to counteract so much of this game's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Oh. And I can't even get the damned breach to go away.

Or, you could keep playing without cheating so that you can learn how to actually overcome these challenges. I assure you, you're not going to enjoy genuinely difficult challenges that this game can throw at you if this is what you're struggling with now and you aren't putting in the effort to learn how to improve.
@RCMidas Having races spontaneously spawn fleets far beyond the collective power of the entire damned galaxy isn't a "genuine challenge". It's effective game-over after already committing hours into a game. A "genuine challenge" can be defeated. This ♥♥♥♥ can't be, short of cheesing game mechanics which is just about on the same level as simply cheating.

If it's the Unbidden you're speaking of - that's thewhole point.
It's called "crisis" for a reason.

You not having prepared appropriately for the Crisis is more of a you problem, than a game problem. If you can't reign in your economy before... 2350 I believe is the first possible year of end-game crisis (if you're playing standard) and pump out fleets like the universe depends on it (well your galaxy) then you have a lot left to learn.

There's a reason why there's a slider for the Crisis strength.
