Since you're new, I'll go spoiler-free -

At a certain point in your game, you'll get what's known as an "Endgame Crisis". The different techs that are labelled "Dangerous" influence which type of crisis you get.

Without any spoilers, I will say, you probably do want to research jump drives. They give you a considerable mobility advantage.

Like Nightmyre said. Just bear in mind that it will influence what TYPE of End Game Crisis you have, not avoid it all together, so you might want to just get it anyway since you're bound to get into trouble.

Okay good too know, im currently at the verge of civil idiology war in the aproaching midgame crisis that means ill have a slaughter feast with egalitarians, pacifists, xenophiles, alliances etc. In the end one more buttclenching pain comes probably visiting me.

Keep in mind researching these (and using them, otherwise it doesn't influence the crisis at all) only gives higher chances of said crisis spawning, it doesn't garantee it.

dont go inteligent IA, no spoil, but that will put you in one of the worst game crisis

Only if you're unlucky. Otherwise, it's no worse than the others.

This crisis is mega rare. I always take this tech and encountered this crisis once. And the bonus is well worth it.

There is no reason to avoid dangerous techs as the endgame crysis is inevitable no matter what you do.

Not inevitable... If you have turned Crisis OFF..... but the game will still say these are dangerous techs regardless of whether you have Crisis turned on or off

As long as your balancing your tech, and not rushing to get a titan that only has level 2 weapons because you streamlined, you should be ok with Dangerous techs.

End game crisis can be a blessing or a curse depending on where it starts, If you have a large emprie then expect it to start somewhere in or near your orders. But if you have a tech heavy smaller nation you will be able to hopefully avoid the first wave and have time to build up a defence.

Perhaps i realy don't need to worry much since i think i do build my empire heavily in tech and strong expansion, strong enough even to beat a technicaly more numerous fleet thats in alliance to keep up with my fleet strenght. Altough i admit im still at learning here and have me created species redesingd numerous times to be able to.

Just as a warning, End Crisis fleets are A LOT stronger than the regular empire game fleets. Expect fleet power in the millions range.

Aren't you exagerating? Unless OP is playing with crisis strengh higher than vanilla the fleets shouldn't go beyond 200.000, and even then most crisis will have fleets between 50.000-100.000

It scales with map size and crisis strength. Unless Paradox nerfed crisis strength, they can hit millions easily. Are you talking about individual fleet strength or total? 100k-200k sounds like the power level for just one of their fleets, not total crisis strength.

Yeah I was refering to the power of one fleet, I assumed you meant that since knowing the total fleet power af a crisis isn't really useful since, at least that's my case, I end up fighting a maximum of 3 fleets at the same time usually.
