11/7 Insights and L-Gate Activation researched but can't activate them

Currently in a game at the 2380ish year mark and I've managed to secure 3 different L-Gates within my territory. When I got the research projects to, well, *research* the L-Gates, I managed to activate all 3 and at some point got the prompt saying I could go to the L-Cluster, but nothing happens after that. I'm able to use the Gates to jump between them but I don't have the option of discovering any unknown space or whatever.

Is this bugged out? Other gates I've discovered say that I need the Insights and that I don't have the means to travel to the L-Cluster...so those ones can't even be activated lol!

Any help would be appreciated.

You're might be mixing Gateways with L-Gates.

Gateways that exist in the Galaxy can be repaired and allow you to jump between them.

L-Gates require you to find the clues first, and only then do you get you get the research project to unlock the L-Gates. If you're sure to have finished that, and not Gateway Restoration Tech, then you should have a physical project to do on one of the gateways in your territory. The Situation Log shows you which one.

Once you finish that research project, you should get access to the L-Cluster and be able to explore it. Or you die.

If the Situation Log says that you should already have access but you don't, then there's probably something wrong with the game.

Okay so you were right I was indeed confusing regular Gateways for L-Gates (lol...).But my Situation Log shows that I have 11/7 L-Gate Insights and I've just secured one and it's telling these two things regardless:

X: Requires activation by gathering L-Gate Insights
X: We do not have the means to enter the L-Cluster

I also double (more like quadruple) checked my research log as well and I do have the L-Gate Activation Special Project completed.

Probably just going to start a new game at this point. :(

Do you actually have a system with an L-Gate in your occupied space? If so, you should be able to just right-click the L-Gate with a research ship and in the context menu there should be an option to activate or explore it.
