How to assign jobs?
Just bought this yesterday, and I'm getting a notification that all three of my planets have unemployed, however I can't seem to find a way to put them in a job. I've plenty of mining and other stations so how do I do this?

Jobs are only available on planets/ring worlds etc. To get them employed you'll either have to build buildings on a planet or build districts (generator, mining or food).

Pops more or less move to jobs on their own, but you can tab over to the pop screen on your planet and click on a job to prioritize it to be filled first before other jobs get filled.

Pops promote up stratum ranks (workers > specialists > leaders) a lot faster then they demote down ranks. IIRC there is a tradition (Harmony tree?) that lowers the time it takes for pops to demote, but it still isn't instant.

If you are running an empire with different species or subspecies, and have different traits, those with traits that would get you more output from a certain job would get priority for those certain jobs as well. But if there is a job to fill and the pop is there, it will still work a job it isn't optimized for rather then sit unemployed.

If you are working with slaves, pay close attention to the different slave types and settings as different types of slaves can only work certain types of jobs (or not at all).

You cannot micromanage and pick specific pops to work specific jobs.

if you mean the stations you build in space those are mostly automated and "manned" as a background function. you need to build jobs on the worlds by building districts or buildings. to build districts click on the big box for whichever district you want to build and then go over to the bar that opens on the right to build it. housing districts provide one clerk job and 6 housing, generator districts provide two tech jobs and two housing, mining districts provide two miner jobs and two housing and farming districts provide two farmer jobs and two housing. there are a few things that alter those jobs/housing numbers but not many. buildings are over in that area with a bunch of numbers and locks, each box will open when the world reaches that many population. you just click on an open square and build what you need.

your unemployment will display what type of pops you have as unemployed and higher ranked individuals won't go down to a lower job for a long time. red/bronze is worker class, silver is your specialists and gold is your rulers. then there's serviles, slaves and robots. slaves work jobs depending on their type of slavery, serviles can only work the simplistic jobs and robots can work jobs depending on what level of advancement they are at and what rights you give them. basic robots can only farm and mine, droids can do more complex things and synths are able to work all jobs as long as they aren't enslaved.
