In your case, a quick slave planet would be neat, but be sure to grant them no population control so their pops can grow
Make also sure you have a extra 3-4 pops of your own species to rule it, and the resources to sustain them
for an atomic age civ the enlightenment would be pretty quick anyway. it's kinda useless for stone age / bronze age etc. where it takes many decades, but for an atomic civ you'd be able to use their pops for colonization within a few years via migration treaty and you could integrate them 10 years later to get their homeworld, too.
Also found a Gaia world with Bronze age primitives and an anomaly that says they gave up on tech and went back to the simple life. Guess meat is back on the menu, bois.
I get it though
