Raiding bombardment stance pop destination?

Hi all,

Recently I got the Barbaric Despoilers civic through random empire generation ( I do not have the Apocalypse DLC ) and tried to steal pops from the enemy with the orbital bombardment stance to "Raiding".

But even though several pops have dissapeared from the enemy planets and I have enough room on my planets for those pops, I did not gain any new pops.

Am I doing something wrong?

I have not played with Barbaric Despoilers, but I did take the ascension perk Nihilistic Acquisition once to try it out. (I was not impressed.) I was able to steal two pops with raiding bombardment. Note that it does take a while. You have no control over where in your empire they go, so make sure you search all your planets for them. Also make sure that the species you are trying to steal has some right to be in your empire. I haven't tested it, but I imagine that if you have a species set to undesireables, or if they are set to a non-citizen right and your only planets are core worlds with core worlds set to citizen species only, then they might not actually transfer to any of your planets.

Most likely it destroyed all pops instead of taking them. There populations was rather low considering atleast 4 pops have to stay. Instead just waited for enough influence and claimed it.

Maybe the habitability was a big problem aswell. I intended to steal pops with the direct opposite preference and I had negative habitability modifiers. They were allowed as cast-system residence, most likely I just didn't have the patience xD
