What is trust for?
How is it diffirent from diplomatic relations,what does it do?

its a value which contributes to your overall relationship value with your allies, it builds overtime as a form of bonding between nations i guess. read in the game its all fairly obvious stuff.

You can see trust as a kind of diplomatic memory or inertia: if you've have been reliable in the past, then you keep this memory, even in case of momentary bad condition.
There are some other remembered actions, such as when you rescued their people, or returned them a precious good.
