or is it better selective built those station on resource with at least produce 3 resource? i need those energy credits for maintain my fleet.

its best to get as many as you can they really add up but you do need to balance it with the energy cost so if struggling for credits stick to the ones with highest yield then get rest when you can afford it

I generally only build one that are 3 or higher, othewise, I build things on planets.

Early game I build all research stations though, but later just ones 2 and up.

Note that Energy Mining Stations cost no maintenance. That includes Stations that produce both Minerals and Energy.

I usually start out a bit selective, ignoring those very rare sources which gives just 1 Mineral or 1 of one science, but even in the early mid game, I just right-click on systems and build all. It’s too much bother to skip those rare 1 M/sci duds.

Mostly I use the Autonomous Assembler mod, which has specal Construction Ships flying around on autopilot and prioritizing richer deposits. Eventually they will pick the small 1 M/sci ones, and presumably if all rich deposits are far away they’ll take the small local ones first, but I don’t actually know.

One huge benefit of the AA mod is that I pay for each Mining/Science Station when its build process starts.

If I use the manual right-click method, then I spend 270 Min upfront to build 3 Mining Stations in a system, another 180 Min for 2 Science Stations, and then I right-click another system and queue up 180+180 for 2 Mining Stations and 2 Science Stations.

That’s a long-ass build queue that will keep my ship occupied for a lng time, but it’s also 810 Minerals paid up front, instead of 90 Minerals every month-and-half for the next 13-14 months.

With the exception of early-game, when resources are very limited, build on every single thing.

^ Mining/Research stations are your only form of resource income that doesn't actively penalize your tech/unity.

Late game I tend to put a station on anything. Since I always seem to have an excess of energy it seems fair to trade 1 energy (or less really depending on traditions) for 1 of anything else. The mineral cost, in my mind, is paid for over time. Early game, however, I mostly go for 3+ for energy and minerals and 2+ for research.

i start selective but once my economy starts to take off i will go back through and build pretty much everything if i've got the minerals to spare between projects on my planets

thanks for the information! looks like selective built is the best choice early game, until the energy credits in abundance.

Yeah, end game I'm usually having to buy minerals every few months. It's annoying. I wish you could just set up a trade agreement with the Enclave instead.

Or just pick up the Stellar Forge mod so that you can have Dyson Spheres that produce minerals instead.

0.0 oooooooh... Yes please!

edit: Actually, I'd still have an excess of energy credits. If it weren't for the fact that my fleet is twice the size of my cap, I could have three spaceports constantly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out top tier ships, so I have plenty of minerals. It's just I hate the waste.

edit2: Holy ♥♥♥♥! The Mk.II is amazing. Defiantely building one of those in my current game. Now I know where all those captures slave pops are going -- into the heart of a burning star!

i'd use mods as well but it just bugs me how i cant earn achievements when i'm using them so end up sticking to vanilla :steamsad:

I build mineral stations first, as many as I can and then I usually have to focus on increasing my energy production before I can build the rest.
