I did, thank you but that wasn't the problem. I've found out now that there was still one single planet unexplored. For some reason my explorer ship must have interrupt/stopped exploration before system was finished.
Now I can build the star base and claim it
Yes that's true and you can the exact cost of influence then. Thank you for the hint!
Ah didn't realized that, thank you!
This game is a lot learning by doing I see. Though it feels like colonization takes centuries. And last time I played Stellaris the planets overview and building system was different. No districts and less different ressources. But this might also have changed because I bought the Utopia DLC.
There are also machine empires introduced with Synthetic Dawn that behave similarly.
Now you just explore a system and then you build a starbase. But that's okay, it's easier and I like it.
Also new is the exhaustion system during war. A War back then had no time limit. It was only over when you offered or accepted peace or by total destruction of the hostile faction.
Space stations were different. You were able to upgrade them all to max, no limit here but with every upgrade maintenance costs went up. So it was more a question of your resource production then research/increase the limit.
And some other stuff. So it might be probably even 4-5 years when I last time played it, dunno. But it's cool, now I can explore new stuff. Just have to (re)learn now how the game works after all these updates :-)
