Largest planet you've ever had?
I've just managed to get a size 48 planet, so I'm just wondering what the largest sizes other people have had. Has anybody managed to beat that?

Vanilla. Got the anomaly that turns a gas giant into a barren world. Then turned that into a tomb world.
If this is in vanilla could you recall the name of the anomaly i would love huge tomb world... How does one do that? I am playing post-apocalyptic right now and i reckon ill start over do to ethic... any info on this is welcome..:)

The process involves 2 separate events. I can't recall the name of the first anomaly, but the event it branches off of is called 'Deceptive Giant', which reveals a gas giant your science ship was surveying to be a barren world. Gas giants can have sizes up to 75, I believe, while generally rocky worlds cap out around somewhere between 25 and 30 I think. Deceptive Giant will allow you to locate a barren world that far exceeds the general size cap of rocky worlds.

From there you colonize a planet in that system, or build a habitat and colonize that, and make that colony your empire's capital. The second event you need to trigger is 'Horizon Signal'. At the end of Signal, there is an option that results in turning all rocky worlds in your capital's system into tomb worlds. By triggering there two events, you can create some worlds of silly sizes.. not that it's really of any practical use... but it's fun to see a 52 tile ecumenopolis in your empire, even if the game has been won a good two centuries before you ever finish developing the mega planet. :)

Edit: Also, great catch Kapika96! I hadn't thought to try this before you mentioned it.

Would that be in vanilla or modded Stellaris? And if vanilla, how exactly did you get your hands on a 48?

Vanilla max size is 25.
In vanilla, the Spiritualist fallen empire spawns with a 30 (or is it 35?) tile Gaia capital world.

Yeah? Haven't seen it. I'll take your word for it.

Oooh, snazzy. That would make a fun Ecumenopolis.
Ahhah. Size 52 is now my largest size planet ever in a Vanilla & Ironman game mode. :)

Biggest I've ever seen was around size 30, and that was modded.

Yep, this is how it's done. The deceptive giant event seems incredibly rare though, I just got super lucky and assumed it would just turn into like a 30 planet too :)

Sizes up to 75 are possible? That'd be insane! And yeah, developing those planets takes forever. Still nowhere near to full on my 48 planet. Got like 500 free housing and a few hundred free jobs and I've still got like 20 districts left to build :D

Heh ow I know about the horizon... fun chain got it in my first game didn't know what i was doing... Gonna have a look at Deceptive Giant. So all i need is a system with lots of big solid planets and one Giant Gas Giant with a specific anomaly next to Junk Rattlings tomb worlds, shouldn't be to hard to find. Yay mini-maxer in me is happy, thank you :)
