But now very little can be done, just spam armies with all your planes. Slave/clone armies are probably best to spam asap.
if you made the right decisions you could have gotten yourself a unbreakable 3k garrison power army
The event chain isn't over at that point though, at the end you will get _some_ compensation. Probably won't make up for losing a whole colony worth of pops though.
If you plan ahead and defeat them, or just evacuate the planet, choosing the option can be quite lucrative.
Going the "peaceful" route is safer, but also less lucrative. The guardians simply aren't that useful in most cases, unless the world happens to be in the perfect position for a fortress world.
That's not the "right" decision, that's the easy option where you lose a district slot and get some defenders that are only potentially useful early game. You very much want to destroy them, which isn't that difficult with a few fortresses.
As far as colonization events go, this one is pretty tame. It's not that dissimilar from Titanic Life, and is a lot better than the ones that wipe out your colony and/or destroy the planet.
The effects that you can get from defeating the guardians DEFINITELY make up for it in the long run.
A deposit that yields +2 Living Metal
And a choice between:
- 10% Research on your homeworld
or
- 10% less Consumer Good Upkeep and 5% Happiness on your homeworld
Oh that's pretty cool.
Unless melting them down and collecting their alloys was the "peaceful" option for some reason.
My last game I encountered the event as a fanatic xenophobe/militarist, I had the two options to destroy or melt them down, I don't remember what option I picked and I don't think it matters because I'm pretty sure no matter what choice you have there or what option you pick it all brings up the same dialog screen. That dialog screen does not change based on your ethics, the statues still make you an offer and your choice at the end is to accept or say "but we need this land" which turns them hostile.
Sentinels seems very strong for beginner but they're only shadow of Fallen Empire homeworld defense forces. And you really want to grab their worlds intact :)
