Ship design saving over several Matches
Is there any Mod or feature that allows you to design ships in one Playthrough and save them... game wide. So that i don't need to design every ship over and over again in different Playthroughs?

The included feature in the game for this problem is the auto-update ship design checkbox in the ship designer window. In regards to a mod, the problem, I think, would be the difficulty inherent in dealing with the constant changes to weapons tech throughout the initial time-frame of the game.

I, however, would also love to know if some beautiful person on the workshop has addressed this...

auto update gives you garbage ships

Auto "design" gives you garbage ships. You can still use auto upgrade in manual designs so it only replaces stuff with their direct upgrades

i didn't mean in the same playthrough. I meant in different ones. For example. I play singleplayer. got nice Battleships cruisers and destroyers. Several design. Then i go to play with friends. And i wish i could have the pre-designed ships from the Singleplayer now in the Multiplayer.

I didn't say auto-design was good, he asked if there was a feature in the game that automates ship design, and that's what it does.

Also I think we shouldn't confuse auto-upgrade with the auto-design option.

You're confusing auto-upgrade with the auto-design option.

Not correctly. I wasn't asking for a "auto-upgrade" feature. More a Blueprint saver for multiple playthroughs.

I know, that's why there were two parts to my original reply...

No there isn't and I cannot understand why you would need this it literally takes 5 seconds to design a ship as its all really simple and unless its your first time playing you should have a pretty good idea of what your a designing before you design it.

I don't disagree for vanilla, but you should try playing with NSC2 ship mods in conjunction with the Upper Limits mod.

That's impossible since you get the different parts at different points so you're ship design template would have to re-designed to work with whatever tech you have.

So in the end, you'll be designing the ships anyways.

currently no. but, if i thought it like. a destroyer design. you don't have them right at the start of the game. So they would be outgreyed or "disabled" because of missing tech. Until you got the tech

I would also like this, an option to save all player-made ship designs to a file that can be loaded in the next game.

The concept isn't revolutionary. Galactic Civilizations handles the problem you raise seamlessly, and it's one of my favorite features. Admittedly, it's a favorite because ship design is one of the few things I actually enjoy micro-managing. It would be awesome if Stellaris did the same as GC3 - It would be exactly what OP and I want.

And it def takes micro-managers more than 5 seconds (literally or figuratively) to keep designs how you want initially and as the game progresses. As research advances, there are new ship options that arise outside the auto-upgrade path, such as ceramics and enigmatic encoder / decoder. Every game I play there is a round of early ship design, and several more rounds of doing the same changes as the game unfolds.

So, not the showstopping issue for sure, but probably my biggest enjoyment subtractor in Stellaris.
