Theoretically? Corvettes "designed" role is to be the anti-battleship. Theoretically, each ship class does worse against the next one, and better against the one before. So corvettes theoretically do better against battleships and worse against destroyers.
Practically, there is no real point in using them. Going mono-battleship is still the optimal strategy, because the AI does not design their fleets in any specific way. The AI goes for generic fleets, with a roughly even mix of all ship classes. As such, going mono-battleship gives you the best outcome, because your battleships will wipe out their battleships and cruisers quickly, and then the remaining destroyers and corvettes won't be strong enough to beat you.
