Origin for Devouring Swarm?

Since tree of life is off limits for a Devouring Swarm start, what would you take instead? I feel like none of the origins really fit for a Devouring Swarm.

From an RP perspective Doomsday would work pretty well. They've been forced out into the galaxy to consume since their home world has already been picked clean.

Alternatively post-apocalyptic. They weren't the only species to originate on their planet. They are the only ones that survived though.

You could go Remnant. Just say your Swarm tried to take over the galaxy before, and it didn't work. They're going to get it right the second time.

If you are doing a terravore (The lithoid version of devouring swarm) calamitous birth works really well.

Im currently playing Devouring Swarm with Ring-World origin - its pretty good although needs a lot of micro.
IMO designed species/gaia start is best origin for swarm.
You are intelligent bio-weapon just fulfilling your purpose... :)

Definitely Ringworld. Experiment in space station gone wrong, ate all their makers...

Void Dweller would also work but isn't an option for Gestaltos.

Note that there are ways around the restriction (I have heard you can get around the restrictions on most origins) and i have seen random empires that are devouring swarm with tree of life. But its clearly not supposed to be possible.
