Ships wont attack.
i have 2 fleets of Laser Cruisers with 7k fleetpower each , and the do not want to engage enemy outposts ..just fly there stay at range and look like idiots while getting shot at and not returning fire.

ohh they can shoot , which they have proved eradicating a 1k fleet in mere seconds but they dont want to fly to that ♥♥♥♥ING BASE.

its the second bloody time ..seriously stellaris if you dont give me controls over my ships while engaged at least make the bloody fight.

EDIT : im a ♥♥♥♥♥♥....when you dont read the bloody discriptions , i installed carrier tactics that forces them onto 150+ range , pretty ♥♥♥♥ with 60 range lasers.

does not work ships still wont fly in engagement range ..
Just in case you are trying to attack a mining or research station, note that the default and intended behavior is for military vessels to ignore them. You should be able to force your ships to attack one by selecting the fleet, clicking the attack button, and then clicking the station while zoomed into the solar system.

If you are trying to attack the outpost that determines control of a system, all you should have to do is move within range of it - provided it is hostile. An outpost will only be hostile if you are at war with the outpost's current controller. Note that if you are at war with an empire, and someone else your are at peace with is also at war with the same empire, it is possible that they have defeated an enemy outpost and that it is now under their control. In that case you will not be able to attack the outpost, because it is no longer hostile to you.

If you are having trouble getting your fleet to fly to some potential target, try sending them to empty space adjacent to the target (ie right-click near the target instead of on it).

Did you click the button on the fleet that changes it from passive stance?

They may be chasing strike crafts? Maybe? Happened to me once.
