I've never come across more infuriating interface
Any interface that's any approximation of intuitive is childs-play to me but this thing is no approximation of intuitive. There's so much that's basic that I can't easily do or do at all. The tutorial says design a ship, but the Save button doesn't work. Meanwhile there's no ship list. What. the. proverbial. ****? How can anyone manage a game with a map this big without a ship list, particularly in real time, or are we meant to stop it every few seconds? Really appalling, particularly the tutorial which doesn't even step me through the counter-intuitive interface. It seems they haven't grasped the concept of tutorial. I don't mind having to learn an awkward interface, but without a clue I'm losing my patience.

It actually sounds like parts of your UI are missing, as in bugged to not showing up as designed. You verify your files yet?

4th thread he makes (first was repeated word for word a while after) and he never answers.
I think he closed the outliner.

mods? Please

The not being able to save the ship design is because you have the "auto best" box checked...that is checked by default. Everyone has to uncheck it and people probably have gotten so used to doing so they don't realize any more. it will be right there in the ship design window. Also, you can't save any designs that go over power usage or that you haven't put a name on.

A ship list should be right there on the right hand side of the screen...select a fleet and you will see the ships. Also the fleet management window might do what you are looking for.

I haven't done the tutorial in years...I would not be surprised if it hasn't been updated to cover much of the game. Though with the way they keep adding layers and micromanagement I don't think anything but a game play video could ever actually be helpful.

Thanks for your feedback. It's not really a ship list I need. Clearly it's a fleet list.

I have no mods installed.

Open your outliner. That is all.

Fleets are the smallest unit of combat ships the game has. A laundry list of every ship you have would be meaningless since you can't give individual ships orders. It is annoying...like it would be nice to bring up a list and tell any damaged ship to go off on its own to get repaired, but first you have make a new fleet of the damaged ships and then tell that "fleet" to go repair. So yeah...I think I am reading into more of what you might looking for, but it is the way it is. People were suggesting similar things at the original launch, so I doubt it will ever get changed.

From his other threads, he just hasn't looked at the outliner.

Open outliner and make sure to configure it right. Even if you open the outliner. It can stil have elements "missing" if its unchecked to show up in it. There is a variety of things you can show in it. Or even remove from it. With the checkbox list of things you want inside the outliner. Depending on what you play or how you like it, you can modify the outliner and even move where things are shown in it with the outliner config button.

If you hover your mouse over the save button it tells you why you can't click it. Most likely you either have "Auto-generate designs" ticked on (you need to turn that off to make your own designs), or your design has no name. The fleet list is on the outliner to the right, the category is named "military Fleets". The outliner is customizable. See screenshot: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2095499882
