Help - Pops won't become Specialists
I'm not sure if this is a bug or something I'm missing, but for some reason a specific species is not being promoted.

They were recently in chattel slavery, then I made them residents so I could have my specialist jobs filled up, but they're mostly staying as workers. This is confusing because on some planets they are specialists, and on some they aren't. There is even one of them that is acting as a ruler. Is like a new update or something? Is there maybe a wait time before they can be promoted?

I restarted the game several times, not quite sure what else to do. Thanks in advance!

Promoting to higher strata is instant in 2.7.1, as in previous versions of the game since jobs were introduced.

Are the pops of that species particularly good at worker jobs and not particularly good at specialist jobs? Perhaps the game is trying to use them where they have the most advantages.

Are there different versions of the same species on different planets? If so, they might have different rights and that might be affecting which jobs they can hold.

Are you using any mods? If so, make sure they are all updated to work with the version of the game you are playing and that none of them conflict with any of the others.

Did you start the game before the recent patch? Because saves from before a big patch can get all kinds of weird stuff, if they loaded into a new patch.

Could be that a % of them are still enslaved (if you use slavery guilds a certain % of a planets population is always enslaved and most slave types can't work advanced jobs). Or some of them could have a trait that hinders them from taking on a specialist job (like servile).
