late-game lag just got WAY worse in 2.7?
Very excited for the 2.7 update, but when I loaded a late-game 2.6 playthrough in the new patch, the game got catastrophically slow. I already had the standard Stellaris late-game lag, but under 2.7 it is the worst I have ever seen it, taking about 3-4 minutes to pass a single day in the game. Anyone else experiencing this?

so ... I suppose you only update to 2.7 when 2.8 releases so you can play the most likely, most stable 2.7 while the paying beta testers do the work.

Just more evidence the team does not test the game properly.

They do test it,problem is they test it on their systems which are usually pretty specific. When you open it up to everyone, you tend to have an endless amount of different setups. This has been the case almost always.(except open betas and what not)

Not really true given some of the issues that have "slipped through" in the past were far from platform/configuration related. Sure there will be some of that but any QA system that lets things like "pagans can no longer reform their religion", "rebels can't be killed as they immediately retreat when engaged", and some of the other whoppers that have made it to a patch release the last few years has issues.

I'm not sure but according to reviews on https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Paradox-Interactive-Reviews-E1008028_P2.htm Paradox fired all employees of one branch that opposed releasing a patch.

Not a branch. But specifically their "publisher QA" department was let go. Which is a different group than Paradox Development Studios (I think that what they are called anyway) which has their own QA.

The number of testers were reduced for sure.
Yay, new content i cant experience because of the games performance issues. thanks for the update. lol
Even new games are pretty bad; I can see the stuttering on large sized galaxy's.

This needs to get fixed, ASAP.
Ok i was expecting to finally start playing today...i have held back a few days till 2.7 because i always remembered how bad the lag was.

Must of pumped over £100 into to this game but im still waiting for it to be playable?!?!? Paradox make great games no doubt but i'm just getting tired of it.

I just want to setup a large galaxy with a decent amount of AI and play a LONG slow tech game.
It's not that they don't test, it's that they don't really care what the testers find. They pick a date and they push stuff out on that date regardless of what state it's in. They are usually aware of all the issues, but fixing issues is a lower priority to them than hitting marketing goals.

If it bothers you that much remember you can roll back to any major version of the game. There's no need for hyperbole, the last version of 2.6 was perfectly playable, and if you think the performance hit in the current version is the end of the world then you shouldn't be bothered waiting to play the new content until whatever issues are fixed.
Very glad to know I'm not alone, and equally glad that the devs already know it's a problem and are working on it. I gotta say, I'm very surprised that the 2.7 patch did this, since I get the impression that the jump from 2.6 to 2.7 entailed a fairly modest (but still welcome) set of new features.

What new features? I saw only a few QoL changes that about it?

No need to go over-board...

Most of those are what I would called reworked feature or QoL change like I said before.

It is not like Lithoid DLC where you got new species trait/archtype to play with.
can confirm that performance took a pretty nasty hit with the current patch. i'm already starting to get stutter as early as 2320 with xeno-compatibility disabled. I can't imagine how bad the stuttering will get in the lategame

Maybe that is what tkoshark called new feature. Was just trying to answer your question but should have let him I guess.
