you get it in trade value (so its not neccessarily energy credits)
also commercial pacts are a combination of 'free idea market' and 'consumer benefits'
the energy credits you get should be part of the ones you get via trade/trade value and are accordingly listed in your energy credit breakdown

sadly you actually CAN'T see it if the other empire offers it (you see how much both parties would get if you offer), nor can you see what a pact gets you after the initial numbers change, since, yes it is in the breakdown but its factored into ALL trade, so no way to distinguish what part of that Energy is from domestic trade and what is from commercial pacts.

So far from the numbers I've seen when proposing them: unless you are a megacorp don't even bother. The influence it costs isnt worth the small amount you get and even when you swim in influence and need energy, activating the energy-production boost edict is most likely more profitable.

There might be special cases where it actually might be worth it, but they are few.

What it can actually be good for is building trust with another empire since it doesnt bring you into their wars (like a guarantee might), it doesnt give them help with getting better tech (like the tech-pact does, especially when you are more advanced then them) and it doesnt get your their pops on your planet (in case you don't want that), so its the least impactful "low-key" treaty there is.
When an empire proposes a commercial pact, if you want to see what each side will get out of it you can leave their proposal without responding to it, open up diplomacy with that empire, and then click on propose commercial pact. This will show you what each side will get currently. Then you can cancel making your proposal, return to their proposal, and either accept or decline it.

Not quite. Commercial pacts share a certain amount of trade value each empire with each other. What your talking about is a trade league federation.

This is among other reasons is why a trade overview/breakdown window would be a nice feature, having multiple trades and/or trade agreements gets harder to keep track of what's where. Warfare decisions are not just about the military balance, both political and economic implications come into play, and need accurate information for deliberating.

Actually while I agree that I would like to have the quick breakdown from that topline differentiate between domestic trade and trade agreements' income, a breakdown by individual trade agreements would be cluttering what is supposed to be a quick overview a bit much.
Pretty much would like to see that on the diplo-window and if it would be just as a tooltip when you go over the tradepact with that empire.
And ofc have that information added when another empire offers one, honestly had me baffled that it isnt already the case especially given that you get the info displayed when you offer one. Kinda hope it was an oversight and gets corrected.

isn't there a little bar that shows any active interactions you have with them?
