Maybe Guardians OP?
So I was using the mod ``ISBS: Doomsday weapons & ships``.
(It allows you to build Titans and some over cool stuff.)
I went into the system with a dimensional horror with my 35k fleet, expecting to kill the guradian asap as some youtube blokes ''claimed'' 13k fleets are enough.....

My whole fleet was ripped to shreds in SECONDS!
I landed a lot of hits from Giga Canon tier 2, Tacheyon Lance etc....
WITH NO EFFECT. That thing did not even take a scratch :(

Dimensional Horror does indeed live to its name....
Perhaps they are a little OP?
what do you think?

I killed one with a... 10k-ish? 15k at MOST... fleet of mostly corvettes, destroyers, and a few cruisers using energy weapons and the damage buff from the Keepers enclave.

No, seems about right. They're mid-late game objectives. Late game you should have 100k fleets and be fighting Fallen empires on equal footing. But composition matters as well. I killed the Technosphere with 25k by sending fighters which shot down its missles. The only problem was its main lasers. If I had put powerful shields on my ships (I had none), I would have needed less.

I killed it with a 20k fleet armed with lasers without the Curator buff, and still had a 15k fleet after the battle. So, no.

The DH one-shots battleships, so make a mixed fleet. Put plasma cannons on your ships. Giga Cannons and Tachyon Lances have great range, that's their main advantage, but it doesn't mean they're the right weapon for everything or that they will win you every battle. The TL in particular isn't the mega weapon it used to be anymore, you want Focused Arc Emittors instead these days if you're dead bent on using a X weapon against armor.

Just because a mod lets you build Titans doesn't mean they're the answer to everything. As I said, the DH one-shots any ship, so you're better off with small or medium ships.

I'll vouch in support of that. 1st time I attacked the DH was with a fleet of 30 battleships and retreated with 10 left. Round 2 was with a horde of 200 corvettes which took minimal casualties. Bigger guns isn't always the answer.

Use this.
Don't use shields or armour, just go full evasion. Stick all gamma lasers and you'll be fine.

Also, don't use strike craft, the Horror has a spawnkill instakill point defense system.

Yeah but they work pretty well versus the Fortress for example.

IMO this discussion is silly. Guardians don´t move anywhere, anyone has all the time they need to make that 50k fleet with veteran admiral that will stomp any guardian.

Or don't. Minmaxing isn't for everyone.

CivMike, heheh, this mod seems to buff all your enemies including guardians and FE`s too. So all guides becomes not relevant with it. You need to figure the needed force by yourself :)
