How to get Mega Engineering Tech?
Hi there,

so I played 3 games now until 2300-ish and always got teched up until getting the citadel, which I thought would be the prerequisite for mega engineering but the tech just doesn't show up. Couldn't find a reliable answer via google, so I thought I might ask here. I'm playing 2.6 and with Gulli's Tech mod (Even though I'm going to disable it, so many repeatable techs get on my nerves u.u)

Thanks in advance.

expand the weight modifiers to see what you can do.

Meh! I've got all of this, but in over 30 years nothing showed up. That's so frustrating :/ Especially because I got lucky and have a broken Dyson Sphere and a Dark Matter Compressor next door T.T

afaik the direct prerequisites are citadels, battleships and zero point power.

and it's a tier 5 tech, so you need a certain number (i think 6) of tier 4 engineering techs (such as citadels and battleships) unlocked before you can draw tier 5 techs at all.

i got mega engineering in my first game after update after fulfilling the requirements, so it seems to work correctly.

It is a rare tech, so if you dont have specialities that increase the rate of rare techs, you need to wait. A trick for that is to increase the tech number you can research, by tech and civics + have some "fast" techs for research. I always keep some low techs open for the ase, than when i have the needed stuff i research em to get faster new tech cards.

Yeah I was just having this issue and took a while to figure out my issue cause I havent played in a while, so you need to research all the tiers of the kinetic and energy weapons, not all of them but most of them and the fulfills the tier requirement for mega-engy alongside with the bs, citadel and zero point power

Oy... Yeah, same. Just started again when federations came out. The best game phase is the early phase though, I kinda feel that mid-game (aka the waiting game as soon as you secured your borders) is boring AF. Wanted to get the D-Sphere and so on to get enough ressources and hunt them all down, but meh! :D

Anyways, thanks guys. That helps.

make sure you're checking lower on your options. there's been times in the past where people missed things because they had so many options and didn't notice you could scroll down.
