Super Weird bug (Suns Firing)
So it would seem that whenever there is combat all of the munitions like point defense, missiles, and coil gun projectiles are all being fired from the systems star at both my units as well as the enemy. I'm not using any mods that change combat, has anyone ever seen anything like this? So weird.

Some turret/ship altering mods are missing emitter locations which causes them to default to firing from the center of the system. Some of them override vanilla files with old files, so even things you wouldn't expect to have issues might. They might not specifically be combat related mods, but just a mod that tries to add bonus damage against mining drones for example, which causes mining drones to fire out of the star because it's replacing the entire mining drone definition.

Point Defense always fired at suns then fleets have some mixed PDs and enemy strikecraft/missiles present - i guess paradox developers is fine with this as this is a years long bug reported long ago and ignored.

try switching off all mods and testing it, to make sure there's not some seemingly innocent mod that replaces a random file that somehow broke everything.
it may seem unlikely, but that's the kind of thing that happens when mods aren't allowed to patch files rather than replace them.

Yep, it was a mod causing it. All squared away. Thanks guys.

It was an older version of Real Space, after uninstalling and switching to 3.5 it seems to have cleared up.
