The Galactic Senate Shenanigans
So right away every empire except for the devouring swarms and ancient empires joined the galactic senate....so far so good.

Next we all start passing resolutions to leverage heavy sanctions on empires that violate our rules. All of these votes are almost unanamous, bear in mind at this point we dont have any laws set forth to follow....still going great.

So then we start trying to decide which laws we need and it all goes to crap. Every empire wants something different and starts proposing all sorts of laws. One day were voting on whether or not to ban colossus weapons, the next where forcing every empire to have at least half of their naval capacity filled. Then we decide we need to stop industry and preserve the environment. A few meetings later we are calling for mass industrial overhauls at the expense of the planets.

At this point every single empire except for 2 are in violation of at least one law so everyone has the sanctions, so then we start voting to repeal all the sanctions. Its almost unanamous everytime and we get rid of almost every sanction.

Dont get me wrong its still fun and it kinda makes sense when you think about it. I mean the different empires have such polar differences in their cultures there isnt any way for most of them to come to common ground.

Now every empire just declines everything and almost nothing gets done, we are all still in violation of at least one of our own laws but since there are no sanctions it doesnt really matter and we cant agree on anything. But i find this acceptable and it definetly makes the game feel more alive.

Solution: Become the senate. (Council size of 1, you a permanent council member, add the ability to veto).

Then just use the powers of your position in combinations with favors and stuff to slowly form the galactic community rulings to your liking. If someone gets uppity (outright hostile towards you) force a denouement on them through.

Should be mentioned that i renamed my empire to "The empire" and my federation to "The galactic empire" (The federation now includes half the galaxy, also i'm its undisputed president).

Now the only issue is that all my synth workers has been buggy lately. Ohh well, at least we have made great strides in AI development, we even added it to all our ships! (Yes, i know what is going to happen, but my economy is so tied to my synths at this point that i can't stop it :D).
