I took over the galaxy by enslaving and purging anyone I didn't like.

That was pretty funny.

well there was this one time during the multiplayer livestream back around a week or so before this game got released and one of the guests declared a fallen emipre their rival so, there's that.

Had this one time my pirates spawned in Sanctuary and got wrecked immediately. I actually arrived in time to see them get wrecked by the defensive stations. Then
I had to edge around the system to plink their stations, making sure my ships wouldn't share the same fate.

Then there was the time the Prethoryn spawned. They spawned on one end of the map, took one planet, and then flew through 5 territories (including mine) to take over the planets of a Fallen empire right next to me.

I spent the next 5 years intercepting their troop carriers and colony ships so that they couldn't take over the Fallen Empire worlds (it kept spawning a 18 k fleet which would take out a 28 k prethoryn fleet and then get destroyed, doing a good job keeping them down) I didn't have the power to fight one of those face to face, but killing the smaller transports made stalling them possible. Felt like whack a mole.

This one time I spent like 5 hours in an enormous war in a War in heaven - we win, a pop-up appears telling everyone they'd be rewarded according to contribution and I got... Nothing. I personally took and held like 80 % of the warscore in planets and killed the enemy titan.

Turns out I had glitched the game out because I had invited the Awakened Empire into my Federation before the war triggered - I didn't ask to become a satellite because I thought we were already allied - only satellites get booty. Whoops.

Hmmm i think my most entertaining moment was my very first game ever:

I was playing my science spiders, and had a observation post around a primitive civilization observing them

Later, I get a pop up notice that one of my scientists decided to go to the planet, proclaim himself a god, and have a pyramid built in his honor and be worshiped by the natives...

I got that too xD

I had it put in the history books.

That man is a hero in my empire xD

One of my scientists got level up and new perk, so I've opened the prompt and it shown empty portrait. Just as he leveled up and got new perk, he died, leaving empty seat.
Pretty funny, debug string saying "empty" made me stare on it for couple secs (screenshot on my profile).

ah see my science spiders are strictly professional, we reprimanded him and removed all evidence of what he had done =P

Lol. He gained the perk "Ascension to a higher plane of dimension" and left your cruddy empire behind. :P

Started a new game as the United Nations of Earth, straight away discovered a xenophobic Fallen Empire directly next to me, then another and another. Just when I'm thinking "great, I'm gonna die", a forth one appeared and decided to declare war on me for no reason. Wasn't even an Awakened one, just didn't like me. I had my 150 fleet face off against their 28k one

such unprofessional behavior from a scientist! it's scandalous. You, sir/ma'am, are a shame to all research-savvy species out there!

=P that would, at least, be my spiders' response to such a thing

Yh I'm pretty sure my race at the time were warfaring reptiles who liked building empires and messing with primitives.

I guess what happened there was just kind of stylish xD

Huh, I don't know. How will your spiders research the effect of such actions on lesser species if they never actually perform them? Theoretical research is all well and good, but sometimes you need to just tell people to stand back, because you're going to SCIENCE everywhere up in this bish.

The only true way to research anything is to get up close and personal, looking through sensors aint gonna get you that far :p

this is a mind boggling concept and my spiders will have to consider the implications thoroughly o.o
