No Research progress for physics, technology, or engineering?
It says I have 0 base progress for the research in any catagory

It does that at the very beginning of the game or when you select a new research project. Unpause and let it run a day or two and it should be good.

If it does that while the game is actually running and days pass by without any progress... then I'm at a loss.

As far as im aware, research is based on how much is collected per month, it could be that you aren't collecting enough per month to be in the positive.

Open more research labs or build more research stations to be in the positive.

Nothing drains it though, so they shouldn’t be able to go negative, so as long as you’ve got a research station making a single of every science resource

some deals you make have 100% research penalties as a cost make sure you read things too when dealing with caravaners and others in deals and trades.

@radwyn - Are you sure about this? I seem to be having a problem with my engineering research- it's completely halted. I have some research deals with other nations, as well as with a curator. Is there a way for me to view the conditions of said deals?
