Pop ID? Index?
Right, so I got this extremely useless and hideous arthropoid refugees join my homeplanet. But I just can't stand them anymore! The kill_pop command still stands I assume, but how do you figure out their ID? This is a species that has no homeworld on their own, so I can't find them in the "Contacts" list (which is also where the debugtooltip gives the ID). Looking in the "Species" tab instead gives some info on them, but the only thing that could potentionally be seen as some sort of ID is labeled "Index".

How do I get rid of these guys? And how do I find the ID for a species that is not a contact?

Have you tried hovering over their pop in the job screen?
The pop IDs weren't given in the contact screen, it was in the tile screen previously.

Sorry, yes I mean that the only place I can find the actual "ID" of the species is in the "Contacts" tab -now-. And yes, I did try to use the debugtooltip with the jobs menu, targeting their little portraits. But I couldn't get any info out of them. It's all weird now since you can't target a specific tile.

Are the pops from a mod? As in an event added them into the galaxy after initial generation. If so ask the mod author if they know of an event to fire to remove the pops. If not then they came from somewhere because even presapients uplifted will have a pop ID either in empire tab for empire pop ratio or on the planet view ratio chart. Worse comes to worse if you hate them that much you can migrate all your other pop off planet and then fire the planet cracker event or just destroy it if the game is that far along.

No mod. They were caravaneers from the beginning I think, so no homeworld. I wasn't really sure of who they were by the time that I got a popup about refugees, and accepted the refugees without further thought. So they do not show up in the Empire/Contacts menu. And if I hover above the different races in the job screen, none of the portraits gives any info on ID, actually there's no tooltip at all.

Sadly I got nothing else... save for blowing up the planet. Sorry and good luck!

Yeah, I ended up trying to purge them. I went with displacement. But for some odd reason, they were not just shown the door, like out of my empire, but instead had a short walk off the plank of a ship into open space, because I somehow got the genocide penalty for doing so. And the humans I had a federation with, as protection towards the threat of an alien empire of "Honorable Warriors", we were both bordering. Decided to leave our federation, end their rivalry with the aliens, and both turned on me instead... Aaaand since I hadn't worked on my fleet much, I took such a severe beating that I doubt I can get back from...
