Nor me, I shall stick to manual plotting.
You only need to take manual control to direct the science ships to specific situations that aren't standard anomalies. Just be sure to keep the ships on passive, otherwise your scientists will bravely run through marauder territory, into hostile crystals or worse.
Problem is when you remove evasive to do an experimental jump but then forget to set evasive again and oops, you just wandered into a dimensional horror...
