What size planets are recommended for colonization?
Hello all.
I have just started a new playthrough on a huge 4 arm spiral.
On my previous game (was still a very early game) I found a size 26 planet (suitable for colonization) in a system just 2 jumps away from sol.
This time its only size 16, again 2 jumps from sol.
Should I wait until I find a bigger planet?

Everything

Seriously, everything should be colonized because thats extra resources and pop growth which those pops can be shifted around if needed. Just make sure you have the ability to eat the penalties if you go over the admin cap.

You could make a small ressource world out of it, or fill it with urban districts and make a science/industrial/alloy world.
I fail to see why you wouldn't colonize it, unless you don't want to manage too many worlds because that can be tedious in late game.

Auto build mod is wonderful for that. Set the parameters and you're golden

Everything that have 80+% habitability - at instant, no-brain (well, excluding some arrogant folks praying mats ;) ).

Planets between 60-80% are usually taken too - but before check your CG generation. If it's barely positive and you have more habitable targets for colonization - maybe they will be better?

Planets <40% are mostly better to avoid, except mid-late game (or you really need them / playing robots or slavers / your economy rock).

P.S. To be precise - you WANT colonize everything. Something early, something later - depend on your empire type and/or economy.

P.P.S. As spiritualist - you better to avoid Tomb worlds completely. At beta seem that even terraformed Tomb world is no-no for them (finaly!).

Many thanks all. Im still at a very early stage. I was very cautious about colonization as a guide I was reading warned against early colonization. I believe the guide was quite old though.
