Charismatic trait is amazing right now!
It gives you 20% more amenities production.
This in and of itself sounds very anonymous and 'meh', but it actually gives you high flexibility to do one of several thing:

1. Delay/dedicate less buildings towards amenity production.
Allowing you spec more heavily into other buildings and districts.

2. Allow you to stack up amenities quickly and easily.
High amenities -> higher happiness -> higher stability -> higher % bonus to EVERYTHING!

I've played a few games with this and its actually surprisingly strong, anyone else agrees?

Good: yes.
Amazing: no.
Rapid breeders, venerable, very strong, etc.
Those are amazing traits as they offer you a big boon for the entire game.
Charismatic is little more then a minnor cost reduction trait.
And one could argue that it used to be better when being charismatic increases how much's xeno's liked you.

Having a load of amenities is pretty great, though I find myself generally taking other traits over it until later on when I have either robomodding or gene editing then I'll have a few different species/robot models that will have traits for different jobs each. Basically I just prioritize pop growth and research at first then once I get the techs my economy booms. Been having trouble in my recent games with always being at my resource caps.

Its only good if you want a high amenities game. But if you just want to break even, you don't need as many amenities jobs as you need other resources

And that is why it cost 2 now.
This also makes Repugnant an absolutely terrible trait, whereas before if you were genocidal it was a free point.

Hmm.... might be personal preference, but i find the worker bonus/debuff of very strong/weak to be trivial (army buff/debuff is a non-issue in all but the most absurd cases). I usually swim in minerals early game from mining stations, later on I often end up having to sell some to not overflow.
Food is easy enough to handle, energy though can be an issue early on and maybe all the way into midgame (assuming you buy the +10% unity/science agreements).

10% growth speed is nice, but there are many ways to get growth bonuses and the more 10% bonuses you get, the less each individual one matters. But yes, its still nice.

Venerable is interesting, but very expensive. I'd rather pick something else and often i still manage to keep my leaders alive till age 150+ from tech/ascendancy.
But venerable is one less thing to worry about.

Also, with +20% amenities you can break even with less structures and can delay it for longer, for example your 3rd/4th building without going into the negative. It also incrieses in strength the less amenities you use (traditions, terraforming, resort world... etc.).

This especially worked well for my hiveminds, letting me build 1-2 extra labs or foundry on each planet instead of maintenance depots.

I definitely agree. After they finish fixing most of the bugs out there now they should probably do a design pass over the available traits, their effects, and their costs. Charismatic is probably in a good place (although the name doesn't make as much sense as it did with the previous effect), but some others are now not balanced with their cost. Others are just wildly off; someone mentioned Repugant being bad, and they are dead right. I wouldn't take that (again) if it was worth -10 trait picks.

So hopefully that stuff will get looked at.

Yeah the name is somewhat confusing. I really wonder why "emotion emulators" would help my swarm of deathbot exterminators with maintenance. Maybe they break down the emotion emulators for more spare parts or something.

I see your point.
I personal prefere rabit breeding hive minds or long lived elves.
But i see your point.
It's also one of the few traits rarely getting a boost throughout the game, compared to minerals, energy, ect.

Though it isn't worth it as a Megacorp if you get enough trade branches since there's a special building that gives +10% amenities empire wide.. that you can get a bunch of.

I personally think old trait of "Charismatic" was a lot more useful as its own aspect and they could add two more new traits instead of replacing old ones.

Previous version of charismatic was full with racists bias. Why? Because it's stated that in universe exist races that will be cute and sexy for everyone.

While we don't find for example behemoths cute and sexy - they're 100% find at least some among them. Opposite will be true too :)
HugsAndSnuggles Mar 26, 2019 @ 6:02am
At least, that version made a certain sense; now devs might as well rename it. My guess is stuff like venerable and talanted is due some changes too, since they also add nothing to pop production, only leaders.
