I Could Use Some Tips On Empire Sprawl
I almost always do a Tall(10 or so sectors and 1-3 planets), then do a Ring World late game, and destroy my old planets after abandoning them with a colossus. However, I almost always run into the issue of Empire Spawl late'ish game. (I'm determined exterminator 80% of the time I play). Anyway, around 2350ish I'm usually conqureing the galaxy and I have issues with going WAY over the cap limit. Last save game I was at was 160/100 empire spawl. With a 50% cost increase on a lot of stuff as a penalty. I also split my empire into different sectors.

A couple of years ago, sectors use to fix this issue. Cause your home sector was the only thing counted towards empire spawl at the time. Seems like it's not like that anymore. And not sure how to stay under the late game empire sprawl limit.

Ignore it.

1. Limit the size of your empire and therefore the amount of sprawl, avoiding the penalty.
or
2. Increase the output of your empire as you should be able to given its size, negating the penalty.

Is there a point to destroying your planets, or is this an RPG thing?

Or maybe destroy every planet, conquer everyone, and abandon the systems as a ♥♥♥♥ move late game...

I play on the lowest planet spawn setting, I do it for being a ♥♥♥♥. I roll through the galaxy destroying planets instead of taking them for myself. I hate having tons of planets on my tab list. So f'm, and deny the AI the rights to them.
