Not sure, you should still get the Science job though, I think it gives +40 Physics output, and you can have another job for every 40 pops you have on that planet.

you seem to get dark matter random over time, got a few 100s, but the monthly income is still 0 for them.
The job will give different resources based on what the other dimension is like. Sometimes its like an epty void and you can get the null beam weapon. Sometimes its a utopia, someties they are in war, ive had quite a few outcomes so far.
But yeah there will be a planet with the portal on it that gives you portl researcher jobs.
Should be in the "rare features" tab or whatever
