What are all the empire descriptions and how do I get them?

I've noticed that once I have created an empire there is a discription or classification of that empire.

Theocratic Republic, Holy tribunal, Honorbound Warriors, Intelligent Reserach link ect...

I have a clear idea of all these empires I'm making and it's frustraiting that I have no idea what I'm going to get until I've saved it.
Is there a list of all these discriptions and how to make each one?

Be sure to click "expand" at the far right there. Some things may have been changed, removed, or added from the huge patch a few days ago, so the list may not be 100% accurate, but it should be super close.

You should be able to see what your empire is listed as when you're editing it. It should be visible when editing your empire's ethics/authority/civics.

I've used torpedo vettes since 1.9 and they seem to destroy everything while still being quick and easy to replace.
