The Pop-up Blank Text Event Incident

Ok here's the thing. Ever since the new update i've been getting the blank pop-up event in the first day of a new game. After clicking "OK" another one is behind it. So I came to the conclusion that there are 10 pop-ups per day.
So to solve this issue i originally thought it was the mods i had active so i disabled them one by one to see if it was an outdated mod or something. However, by the time i had deactivatied all the mods, it still happened.
I've looked at other discussions and some people say its mods, others say to install a test beta, and none of those worked.'

Am i missing something or is the game just broken?

Edit: i've unsubsribed from all mods, i've done the test beta and it doesn't work, i've unintalled and reinstalled Stellairs, but it still occurs, i've verified game data, but nothing is working.

I've heared from somone on another discussion that you have to delete the event folder? If so, how?

having the same problem-- done all the same fixes to no avil. Will not be buying the new DLC till this is fixed

I found .Gods and Guardians causes at least one of the blank windows.

I have had issues as well. On top of the blank text boxes appearing and after disableing all mods, still the boxes are popping up.

Is there any chance that the devs know about this problem?

Installing the UI Overhaul compatibility patches fixed this for me.

I have subscribed to that mod also and the blank text boxes are still appearing. Does anyone have a lead on a solution other than those previously mentioned?

Or brought up this issue elsewhere?

The only solution I have found so far is to unsubscribe. The author has probably stopped supporting the mod since it still causes problems six months later.

I have uninstalled the mods for the game several times, but the issue persists. I have the new story pack and even with it installed the problem still occurs.

Are there any other solutions that can possibly fix this issue?

have you gone to the mods folder and deleted any left over files? In windows, its usually in "...Documents/Paradox Games/Stellaris/Mod".

Yes, but even then the boxes are appearing preventing a good game. I have also tried several other things mentioned here but none worked.

My last idea is to start a new game with cheats as an option and open the command console before unpausing the new game and type "debugtooltip" without the quotes. Unpause and when the blank event window pops up, hover the mouse cursor over the event, and a tooltip will pop up. That might give enough information to point you in the right direction to solving the error.

If that doesn't work you may need to do a complete reinstall of the game without mods. Then add mods one at a time until you find the one(s) that cause(s) problems.

GUYS I FIGURED IT OUT!! I was just recently told:

Go into the game's files, and delete the 'events' folder, plain and simple.
Then, validate the game files.
Finally, the game will work!

__All of this can be done through the "Properties" button when you right-click the game in your library list.__
