Are you using the same save or starting a new game? A save used with a mod will still be suspect (corrupted).
I recommend removing the mods entirely. Verify your files (properties) and trying a new game with a default empire (or an empire you create with the latest update (not pre-patch custom empire you edit)).
Basicly you need to remove all non - Vanilla Game assets to verify what the problem is.
You could try to fully clean out the mod folders (back it up if necessary). If that fails, fully reinstall the game (again by deleting the game folder before redownloading).
exit Stellaris,
go to File Explorer,
Steam(If you can't find it, just search "Steam" in the "Search...... Input"),
steamapps,
common,
Stellaris,
then delete the folder called "events".
After doing this go to Steam,
then right click Stellaris,
properties,
Local Files,
and then verify integrity of game files.
This has worked for me and i hope it works for anyone plagued with this issue!!
I did exactly that. I deleted the event folder, then verified game files. Started new game and blank event windows are back....I have also looked at my mod list and so far I have no mod, that deals with events or gamefeatures, that pop up windows.
- Unsubscribe to all Stellaris Mods via Steam.
- Uninstall Stellaris.
- Exit Steam.
- Delete the entire ..\steamapps\common\Stellaris folder (the Stellaris folder and everything inside, not the steamapps or common folders, in case that is unclear).
- Delete the entire ..\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris folder (again, just the Stellaris folder).
- Reboot.
- Restart Steam.
- Reinstall Stellaris.
- Verify in the launcher that no mods are listed. If any are, restart the process and make sure you successfully unsubscribe from them all.
- Launch the game and test to confirm that the problem is gone with no mods installed.
If you do all that successfully then you can start adding mods back if you want. You should do it one-at-a-time, testing after each to confirm that the new mod doesn't break things. I suggest only trying to add mods that specifically state that they work with version 2.2.1 (or whatever version you are trying to play).
