The Pop-up Blank Text Event Incident
Ok here's the thing. Ever since the new update i've been getting the blank pop-up event in the first day of a new game. After clicking "OK" another one is behind it. So I came to the conclusion that there are 10 pop-ups per day.
So to solve this issue i originally thought it was the mods i had active so i disabled them one by one to see if it was an outdated mod or something. However, by the time i had deactivatied all the mods, it still happened.
I've looked at other discussions and some people say its mods, others say to install a test beta, and none of those worked.'

Am i missing something or is the game just broken?

Edit: i've unsubsribed from all mods, i've done the test beta and it doesn't work, i've unintalled and reinstalled Stellairs, but it still occurs, i've verified game data, but nothing is working.

I've heared from somone on another discussion that you have to delete the event folder? If so, how?

You are deactivating the mod how? Merely unchecking it on the Launcher?

Are you using the same save or starting a new game? A save used with a mod will still be suspect (corrupted).

I recommend removing the mods entirely. Verify your files (properties) and trying a new game with a default empire (or an empire you create with the latest update (not pre-patch custom empire you edit)).

Basicly you need to remove all non - Vanilla Game assets to verify what the problem is.

This happens to me too, even on new games without mods. Bought the DLC and 2 days later I still cannea ♥♥♥♥♥♥' play the game. Sad days.

Blank event windows are usually a sign of a broken mod. Vanilla game with no mods does not have this issue.

You could try to fully clean out the mod folders (back it up if necessary). If that fails, fully reinstall the game (again by deleting the game folder before redownloading).

Damn, this is so annoying. I'll keep prowling the forums and the subreddit to see if anyone has found a good solution to this. It's bad because this seems to be an issue plaguing only a few people, so it must be a low priority issue for the Devs.
Yea, sucks to be us eh?

Okay, I solved it! You have to delete the event folder. Open up File Explorer and go to steam, then steamapps, then common, then finally Stellaris. From there, you will find a folder labeled 'events.' Delete that folder and verify the cache. After that, the problem should be solved :)

It worked! Spread the news. Anyone who is experiencing the blank pop-up text box at the beginning of a new game...
exit Stellaris,
go to File Explorer,
Steam(If you can't find it, just search "Steam" in the "Search...... Input"),
steamapps,
common,
Stellaris,
then delete the folder called "events".
After doing this go to Steam,
then right click Stellaris,
properties,
Local Files,
and then verify integrity of game files.

This has worked for me and i hope it works for anyone plagued with this issue!!

@Ethan46115

I did exactly that. I deleted the event folder, then verified game files. Started new game and blank event windows are back....I have also looked at my mod list and so far I have no mod, that deals with events or gamefeatures, that pop up windows.

When you uninstall a game the game directory will typically still be there. If mod files were there, they will still be there if you re-install. Even in cases where I don't use mods, I will open up the Steam game directory and delete anything left behind.
I recommend:
- Unsubscribe to all Stellaris Mods via Steam.
- Uninstall Stellaris.
- Exit Steam.
- Delete the entire ..\steamapps\common\Stellaris folder (the Stellaris folder and everything inside, not the steamapps or common folders, in case that is unclear).
- Delete the entire ..\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris folder (again, just the Stellaris folder).
- Reboot.
- Restart Steam.
- Reinstall Stellaris.
- Verify in the launcher that no mods are listed. If any are, restart the process and make sure you successfully unsubscribe from them all.
- Launch the game and test to confirm that the problem is gone with no mods installed.

If you do all that successfully then you can start adding mods back if you want. You should do it one-at-a-time, testing after each to confirm that the new mod doesn't break things. I suggest only trying to add mods that specifically state that they work with version 2.2.1 (or whatever version you are trying to play).
