"Cogs in the Machine"? What is this?

I haven't played in a while. Started a new game as Determined Exterminator Machines.
I was looking to upgrade a space station and see that some things give a -20% cogs in the machine. But I can't find any other referance to this in the game, and very little even on the web. What is it and where can I find someting about this both in game and the mechanic?

It's the name of one of your traditions. Hive Minds and Machine Intelligences have different names/descriptions for their traditions, even if the effects are identical. IIRC it's the Machine Intelligence version of either the Supremacy Tradition "The Great Game" or the Expansion Tradition "Galactic Ambition." I think it's Galactic Ambition, but that's for Upkeep.

Ah thanks, but what does it do a -20% to that?
I find it interesting the name changing but in this case I couldn´t understand it hehe

Yes, I do still don't know what -20% to it does. I don't know what it does from the get go.

-20%upkeep for space stations and any modules you build on them.
