Remastered Null void beam weapon: any good now?
Just got that from salvaging the federation fleet wreckages:

It's clearly different from what the Wiki says. Is it any good? Is the damage scaling or not?

it's from the dimensional portal event on a planet. I got the event in my current playthrough. it litterally melts shields, and after I got it, I actively started going for jump drives in the hope of getting the unbidden

How does it fare once you hit end game and several rounds of repeated techs in energy weaponry? Is it worth going full energy repeated techs while relying on that to deal with shields? Let's say what is better between a) a mix of NVB and neutron beam and 8 levels in speed and damage from energy weapons vs b) 5 in speed and damage in kinetics and energy with traditional kinetic barage?

My feeling is that autcannons/kinetic artillery both do better at the same job ^^

Advantage with Null Void is that you can get it very early if you are lucky. ^^

Well that's the thing: if you consider the price of the weapon which is very cheap, it makes about the same as a last tier kinetic weapon against shields except that it costs 25% of the kinetic weapon price. The only exception may be kinetic artillery. If you factor with the boni from focusing only in energy weapons for your physics repeated tech as much as possible, you might as well spend your repeated tech in engineering for something else like minerals for example or you could for once invest in missiles should you have a use for it. That's quite tempting for sure.
