Broken Gates/L-Gate

The models and descriptions for the gates in my game are broken, which I didn't initially think much of. However, I've now finished the research for the L-Gates and it does not function at all.

Is there any way to force it to regenerate the assets?

The only two mods I am using that could *maybe* have effected this are NSC2 and Extra Ship Components and the only DLC I am missing is Apocalypse and Megacorp. Turning off all mods does not fix the issue.

*edit* I have also already done a game file verification which has not worked

A malfunctioning mod can have unintended side effects that have nothing to do with the type of mod it is. This could potentially be caused by any mod that you are using, or a conflict between any two of your mods.

Did you create a new game with all the mods removed? If you only turned off the mods and then loaded the broken game it might still be broken.

I've been messing about with it and I can generate a proper L-Gate using console commands that has the right graphics and description, however the tooltip tells me it's not linked to a destination and that I don't have the required insights. Looking through the commands, I'm not sure if there actually is something I can do to fix it short of save editing and working out how to link a newly generated one that way.

I didn't sorry, the problem didn't occur again in new games so I've no idea what caused it in the first place.

oh really? Yea that's odd, my console spawned Lgate, after completing all the lsights and activating it does not show the destinations. :/ tsk. Cheers tho mate

Yeah the L-Gates are linked to a specific system at galaxy generation like the regular ones are, just that the system is in the L-Cluster. There was a tool-tip I got to pop up at some point that said my own spawned one wasn't linked to a system and what I could decipher from looking at the save game indicated the same. Giving yourself the L-Gate research also won't fix it.

Welp what a shame, guess I'll just stick with the normal generated L gates :/

Is it the one L-gate that is broken, or are they ALL broken. If none of them work then it's likely that the one in the terminal egress if broken as well. you will need to spawn in that one, too, but I'm not sure if it is a different type of L-gate or not.

In the game I had the issue, they were all broken like in my screenshots at the top and couldn't be interacted with properly (no right click options at all, no hover tooltips, etc)

Have you completed 7 L-gate insights yet?

I believe it's more of the fact that it's a console spawned L-gate and for some reason it does not connect with the other normal generated L-gates under destination. and yes for my instance, 7 insights were found and the open gate research was finished. The problem comes with it being console spawned, unless someone has figured out how to fix it via save edit. Cheers mate
