I simply cant produce enough ships
Playing fanatic militarist/despoilers. Three separate games ive had the same result, by the time the midgame crisis shows up i have ~150 fleet capacity filled up which amounts to around 20k fleet power, depending on tech level.

Its not im simply not building enough, i cant produce enough alloys. The moment i see i have more than 40 mineral production i built more foundaries/upgraded one of them, and i still felt like i had nowhere near enough production for the midgame crisis (havnt even reached the lategame yet). Crisis strength isnt even increased, i reset everything to default for 2.2 (except advanced neighbors screw that setting).

All 3 games not a single other empire was better than Inferior to me and a good chunk were pathetic.

I'm getting rather annoyed about this. Whether i try to go balanced to avoid using the market or dump everything into allloy purchasing when possible....still not enough ships.
It feels like they just swapped the resource from minerals to alloys, which you produce a LOT less of, and left the values the same. ~100 for corvettes, ~300 for cruisers, etc etc.

move the midgame date to later?

I just buy it off on the market and make the xenos pay more for it, that way they'll have a tough time building their fleets

if your having difficulties with the ships cap, just build fortresses or anchorages

On average for the 3 games how many alloys were you producing per month?

Yeah dats a good question for the OP
I mean in mine I would just stick with the given 15 or lower and focus on the rest and buy it out on the market

Highest production i reached was +90ish, my last game i had 3 miner worlds i was still waiting for pops to fill out so i could get more when the midgame popped up and walked over me. I could face one fleet of the marauders but it left me in such a weak state by the time i was repaired up to face the others they took half my crap anyway. I had two 10.5k fleets and their fleets were 17-20k, strong enough where theres no way i was beating one without suffering a lot of damage so i couldnt take on the next right after.
edit: correction, 90ish after upkeeps for said 150fleet capacity ships

Fleet cap isnt the problem, i took the Ascension Perk and i still had like 110 fleet capacity i didnt use yet. I was building ships as fast as i had the resources.

Not sure how but in my last game despite only having 1 power planet i had +200 energy so i bought from the market a lot. Course my upkeep tanked that after awhile but still gave me a boost.

Think im going to try again only this time try to bolster my strength via tech instead of numbers...

On low difficulties it's pretty normal to have all AIs be inferior and then have the crises hit you like a truck. AIs simply don't work very well with the new economy right now, but the crises are not affected by it.

But if the Khan is giving you trouble just submit to him until you can offer actual resistence, or until he dies off.

I make special mine worlds and also do a lot of trading both on the market and with the AI for the alloys I need and it seem to not only be enough to keep my fleets maxed out but my chokepoint defences maxed as well but it does take longer, I also never downgrade stations unless I took them from someone else, I find stacking disengage helps a lot for my economy it's better to repair a ship than rebuild it I always use as much energy as needed to get me a trickster admiral so it stacks with the starbase building and erudite I think it can get up to +88% with another bonus or two so that can and does add up to a LOT of ships you don't have to rebuild, some people seem to say go for the ranged admiral and just out range them but if your going to have losses anyways then it can end up costing you in the end, I am also research heavy lol
