So I got a gun with the trigger removed and music played in another, no tech appeared and nothing in the situation log about either. Anyone know if something happens later or is it trash?

aw... that sucks. So far I have seen different resources drop like alloys and consumer goods, research points too. Those are all what you would expect but it would have been good to have hidden quests or event chains from this.

You can sometimes get planet bonuses or temporary empire boosts too.

And then of course there's the super hidden sneaky one for the achievement.

Havn't seen anything like empire boosts or planet bonuses, are you talking about the sense of pride and accomplishment?

Heh, no that's just their dig at EA. But opening boxes can get you some of the things the caravan fleets can trade you as well. Like the atmospheric deoderizer. Some of them can be pretty neat.

It'd take you a fair few playtroughs to find all of the possible goodies though. The game caps you at 5 boxes per run, but there's way more outcomes then that, not even counted the hundreds of "nothings" you'll get.

Probably a good thing to cap it, my leader is already wasting money on those slots. If they become a problem then I will just need to purge them.

i got 30k food and Consumer goods from them

14k alloys from my first 1, wondering if it is possible to get that on each 1 or is each reward a 1 time only.

I actually got a Galactron on my first try which gives me random stuff from time to time as well as a bonus to unity.

All I got from it however is a silly achievement.

Ahh. I've been trying for that achievement for 5 games now (30 tries) and still not got it. I wonder what the odds are (anyone who can access the code, I'd be grateful if you could list the odds). Best one I've found is +10% trade value.

I dont think there is even a complete list of what drops nvm the odds.

Just keep trying. Focus on the amazing sense of pride and accomplishment that you will have when you finally get it. Definitely don't worry about the total amount of credits you will end up having paid when it is all over.

The sad thing is that you speak truely. I'll 100% the achievements again after this, so I am literally doing this for the pride and accomplishment :(
