Find a stranded scientist
Different speciies than my empire. She's two scientist levels above my max. Awwwww sweet.

Three months later an election happens and she gets elected Clan speaker.

She just keeps getting elected Clan Speaker. She's the leader of the most popular faction.

Anyone can rise to the highest levels of government in my empire I guess.

Why are genius scientists always running for public office in this game?

Anyway, is there any way to check the species traits of this scientist? My feeling is know. She's "sildor" or something like that.

In the future, smart people can become national leaders. We can only hope.

I especially find it funny when a Xeno leads your nation, is the most popular and always gets re-elected.
Yet your empire is fanatical xenophobe... XD

No way that I know of. If you look in the species list her species won't be there. Effectively she is the last member of her species.

It's because she's so high level. Faction Leaders are always the highest level leader of a particular faction, and if that faction is the most popular...

Also, people tend to have a bunch of scientists kicing around, and often a few governers, but not much else. Thus all your choices are scientists.

Pretty much. Since leaders cost upkeep and half of the choices seem pointless outside of war time or expecting war time, You really only have scientists and maybe governors if you've spread out to multiple planets.

It seems like an easy fix to just say, generate a random leader for political purposes. Or to be able to manually flag specific scientists as "don't run for president please." The result is just so silly.

Stellaris is obviously a fictional universe!

Or just stop playing egalitarian states. You can't have scientists leave their posts if you're running a monarchy or dictatorship. Even an Oligarchy severely limits how likely it is for them to be voted in.

I'm just saying. They already have a similar feature in Crusader Kings 2 where you can flag characters as nonelidgble to be a commander.
