Displacement bug 2.2.4
Long story short, I just took over a planet from a enemy, and the aliens on the planet are undesireables for me, as shown in this picture:

Now thats all good and fine, but as shown here:

They are now being exteminated instead, with the public opinion to follow, I play without mods, and the game is on iron man.
I play a gestalt machine empire if that has anything to do with it, and changing the purge type from displacement to exterminate has no effect (they are still being exterminated)

Edit:
Still a issue in 2.2.5

Adding my +1 to this.
I'm trying to go for a specific achievement, and I'm displacing all of my pops to get more robots in my empire.

I quickly noticed that for some reason they were being killed off instead.

While my performance has increased dramatically with this beta patch; not overstating things here, this just almost ruined my game. I managed to Alt+F4 before my alliance started hating me and would probably kick me out.

Check other empires opinions of you. If you see a high negative from purging then you have a problem. If no, then you're displacing properly.

You get high negative opinion from other empires and they are also "displaced" very very very quickly from being hunted and exterminated-

Ye but displacement, while a slower form of "purging", is supposed to not have negative opinions because you're not actually "killing" the pops.

They arent being displaced - but exterminated, even when using the displacement edict, with the full effect of extermination, quickly removed and negative opinion from other, even when using the displace edict.

Alright, I was asking about the opinion, because figured it was possible that it would still say they were being exterminated even though they were actually being displaced.

Yeah I understand that mate :)
I may not have explained it the best either. :)

Same. For the first time in a long time I decided to give robots a try and what do I get? All galaxy hates me because devs forgot to put a semicolon in place or something.
Might as well play exterminators, I guess.
same, i'm sick of these small bugs

Same thing happened to me mate I totally understand. I'm doing Ironman too and I only noticed this in 2.2.4 suddenly. I was displacing a genocidal Fanatical Purifier group from a world (cuz who wants them in their empire right?) and I've done that countless times before 2.2.4, and there was no penalty. Now all of a sudden its -100s everywhere for "genocide." I thought I was crazy or something...

So I'm in 2.2.5 now, and this is still happening. I literally can not continue playing this game until this is fixed, and I'm not frond of starting a new game while I still have this one going.

Could this be fixed please? Yes?

Nah you arent crazy mate :)
On the bright side the genocidal fanatic purifier are gone faster, and while i do think its annoying, ive adapted my tactic to be branded the big bad guy of the universe the moment i start the hostile expanding, which was getting a easily defensive possition, choke points, research stronger starbases, build them, be friendly to those next to me, and wait until i was strong enough to "go solo" and if i got in a war before that i would aim not to take any planets i had to purify.
