Making the rest of my pop psionic
I returned to Stellaris recently.

I've taken the psionic ascension path. Some of my native pop are psionic, but most of them are not. How do I make the rest of them psionic?

Thank you.

You have to apply the template of the psionic subspecies, then research the project.

You might have mistakenly applied the template that lacked the psionic trait.

Change non-psionic species' rights to "assimilation" in the species tab.

To clarify, a small part of my native species is psionic, and the majority isn't. Does this make them two different species?

No. Just apply psionic template with genemodding.

I see no option for adding psionics through the gene modification template. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place.

I did some reading up on assimilation. While being assimilated, population becomes unemployed. The pops don't produce resources but still consume food and amenities. Meanwhile, their jobs are taken over by pops that are not being assimilated. It doesn't look like assimilation is a good idea unless you have only a small pop to mod or if you really like micromanating. Good to know, I guess.

When you assimilate 1 pop- just apply psionic template to the rest of the species. It will speed up the process dramatically.

How do I make/where do I find a psionic template? Thank you.

Oh wait. Pardon my dense head. I see that the psionic icon is greyed out instead of purple. All is clear. Clearer.

I think the problem may be that I got an alert that the project of modifying the species was complete while it is still happening.

Yes! We have achieved psionics! For great justice!

Thanks everyone.
