AI won't end Rivalry

The AI won't end their rivalry with me and it's getting on my nerves. My first neighbor and they rival me for no reason, after doing literally nothing but help them.

Now they have decent standing and they are receptive, but they won't end the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rivalry for some reason.

opinion has to get pretty high for them to end a rivalry, which is pretty annoying

The only way to even raise opinion is to give them a ridiculous amount of resources, especially early game.

Need to revamp the diplomacy system next.

If your fleet or relative power is higher than theirs they are more likely to end the rivalry

Also, it could be a political thing. They may want better relations with you but be reluctant because of how another empire would view that change. Rival their enemies if you can and try to make nice with their friends.

In my current game the AI end their rivalry to me even though they have negative opinion, they even open their border while i closed to them. I believe Its because they have contingency appear right in the middle of their empire.
