Any tips for winning via federation?
OK...I need some help. Every now and then I will try to get the federation win and I always fail. I will always get to a point where there will be two or three civilizations that will not join the federation, but the federation will not aprove a war against them.

Should I leave the federation and deal with them? I kind of figured if I left they will not let me back in...and in my current game there are some civilizations in the federation that have ethics that would probably put out a vote to attack me after I dropped out. Frankly I am surprised they ever even joined.

Should I just spin the wheels and hope that either I get a vote to go through or the wayward civilations finally decide to join?

I am at a loss.

I was thinking of trying again and doing the liberate planet war option over and over and then make a federation with the liberated planets...basically never actually invite any of the real civilizations...but man...that is going to take a while.

Their vote depends on: opinion of the opponent, what they get, what goals you set (some prefer liberating)... and some other modifiers I have no idea of (except one where League always approves fighting AEs, for example).

Well, actually they all have associate status, but won't join...the vote I am trying to pass is to revoke their association status so I can put the vote to declare war on them.

Federations suck atm (at least, imo). Hopefully Paradox fixes them at some point.

That's the problem then: they like those empires too much to revoke NAP. Can't do anything about that.

heh, yeah...sure seems like it. It feels like it is more of a chalange than a clensing or subjagation victory so I've been wanting to acomplish it, but I always get stuck.

It is a long road but the way you may be able to get it done is to select the enemy you want to war against, make the war demands about 4 planets and liberate them or if the other members of the Fed agree, make those planets a vassal. Later you can integrate those 4 planets into your empire. If you do liberate them, immediately declare war and conquer or vassalize them.

Once your first war is done, it is best to pick the next empire you want to conquere and do the same thing. That way you have several 10 year windows running at the same time to shorten the whole process.
