Red, blue and green pills
Does this event always have the same outcome for each colour? So if I chose red every game I'd always get the same gene mod?

Put a spoiler warning in the OP and I'll tell you what the blue and green do, because I've never taken red yet and I want to know what it is.

I took the blue and was really pleased with the results.

I took the blue and got a longer life trait addedd to my pops. I lost it later when i upgraded to cyborgs. maybe because I had brainslugs as well, which gave them too many traits?

Red gives Very Strong, Green gives I think it's increased growth speed, and Blue gives Venerable.

Red: Very Stong?
Green: Adaptive 20%
Blue: Venerable 80 years

You're right, I forgot it was Adaptive, but ya Red gives Very Strong, or maybe just strong. Strong gives +20% Army Damage and +5% Minerals, and Very Strong gives +40% Army Damage and +10% Minerals.

Some Caveats regarding this event, Colonies in progress won't get the effect so....Xenophobes Be aware.

I also had a similar problem regarding the brain slugs and cyborgs. My leaders kept the bonus trait, but none of my pops did. 3 out of my 25 or so pops took on the brain slug trait at the time.

I got the vials event after my species had completed Synthetic ascension, so I wound up with a template of synths with 'Very Strong' on top of everything else. I could still modify the template as well and very strong did not seem to count against the number of traits or trait points I had, although that might be an unintended exploit/bug.

Anybody know how this works with Biological Ascension?
I took the blue before taking an Ascension path and it put me at -3 points for my species :/

You can gene tailor from your original species. At least it put mine as a subspecies of the original.

Does the bonus venerable add to leaders too?

Don't mean to raise the thread, but here is better info.

It seems that if your species has a negative trait that corresponds with the new trait, you get the lesser trait and the negative trait is removed. If your species is neutral, you get the better trait. I do not know what happens if you have the trait that you would get already.

So this is what I know from personal experience using biological species (mechanical should be different).

Blue: Adds venerable trait. If species has fleeting trait, remove fleeting, add enduring.
Red: Add very strong trait.
Green: Add extremely adaptive trait.

I assume red and green follow suit with if you have the corresponding negative trait. The logical conclusion would be no change if your species has the trait that would be added (so if you already have venerable, very strong, or extremely adaptive). I have not tested that yet.

Saw earlier and a while ago that somebody asked about biological ascensions. When you take the pill, it changes your total genetics value so you can end up negative. My species got the Venerable with no related trait before and as such had a negative genetics point total.
i just tried the red vial, and yes my synth pop got the trait but at the expense of negative traits, so only my original can keep having that., if i am to modify my main synth into sub-synth then i need to delete more than necessary traits to get the trait points to positive.

i got 3tp used with 1 free, and it now becomes -2tp
