Fanatic Purifiers cannot have slaves?
I'm quite surprised by this. I received a science task to raise a species to sentience, which I did. The next thing I know their planet is added to my list of colonized planets. I open the planet to find they are being purged. There does not seem to be any way for me to give them any status besides undesirables.

My current race has the governing ethics of fanatic xenophobe spiritualist and the civics of fanatic purifier, post-apocalyptic. Oh boy, if I cannot have slaves, then I’m wondering how one does play a fanatic purifier. So far I have conquered two empires, turning their planets into tomb worlds that I have later colonized.

Am I consigned to repeat this process over and over again? I guess I could use my invading armies, and then purge them, but the worlds would be useless to me unless I wanted to populate them with robots. Are there some creative ways to play fanatic purifiers that I haven’t considered? Should I just keep on creating new sectors from all these tomb worlds, once I reach my max core worlds? Thanks.

Edit: This 10% empire wide bonus to slave production, which showed up during empire creation is what started the thread.

The creative way is creating the tomb worlds. The uncreative way is using robots or terraforming.

Ahh. Well, that's what I'm doing. My fleets are a little stronger now and can cause 3% planet tile damage per day. It takes about a month now to possibly kill one pop. Thanks.
Fanatic Purifiers cannot have slaves in that they view all sapient alien thought as a disease, thus they would no more accept aliens (slaves or otherwise) into their society then we would accept Polio or Smallpox.

lol, they are called Fanatical PURIFIERS for a reason (Emphasis on the purifying).
still a bit upset that it's not part of the base game. You literally cannot play a xenophobe without the dlc ♥♥♥♥ or you just get dogpiled 30 years in.

The general flow of "purifier" style races is: conquer, purge, terraform, recolonize. It's a slow process, but you can skip or speed up the "terraform" part via habitability upgrades or simply getting and using the tech that allows you to terraform while you have pops on the planet. Though I'm not too sure of how the post-apocalyptic bit works in relation to it all, I haven't played with that yet...

Thank you. That is exactly what I am doing now. Never tried a race like the purifiers.

I was watching a YouTube playthrough, when the streamer indicated he chose the post-apocalyptic civic so that he could bomb his enemies worlds into tomb worlds and then inhabit them. Looked like an interesting strategy. ;) It works much better with larger fleets.

Thank you. Guess I didn't quite know what I was getting into, but I'm learning now.

LOL! They are certainly suffering, which I find a bit uncomfortable participating in, as it goes against my profession. ;) I don't mind the assimilating machine race though, for some odd reason. Guess it's because I believe assimilation brings a sense of fulfillment. Haha!

“Fanatical Purifier”
They purify. Fanatically.
That’s all they do.

What do you mean? You can play xenophobe empires without any DLCs. It's also more difficult to survive as a FP empire.
If you aren't able to survive as a xenophobe empire you're doing something very wrong.
