How to get authoritarian faction

Matherialist dictatorship with ethics: matherialist and fanatic xenophob and with 2 corresponding factions. So I was told that the only way to change governing ethics to authoritarian is first to get authoritarian faction. So anyone knows how to get that faction?

increase your ethics drift there is a edict and also pick the corresponding tradition tree will help

what the name of the edict and and tradition tree?

Also as it comes to mind you can also do thing like restrict movement of your people and allow forced relocation and that pretty much cut freedoms and dictate how they live

I am bad with names sorry the tradition tree to the right of the expantion one but before the prosperity one

and the edict I am thinking of is payed for with unity I think

One more thing lol, the farther you colonize from your capital to more your peoples ethics will drift so if you can colonize a farther planet that will help them to at least spawn however say if that planet was something like 10-40 jumps away and you built a gateway in that system and your capital that planet would no longer be considered 10-40 jumps away it would be considered 1 jump away and the ethics drift will be as if it was one jump away, I hope that makes sence I suck at explaining things sometimes sorry

Also things like enslaving pops should increase authoritarian drift as well.

Ok just loaded up my game to get the names the edict is called hearts and minds it gives 100% bonus to governing ethics and ethics shift chanse and the tradition tree is domination.

omg I wish these all came to me at once lol another good way to do it is to take a planet from someone that has it, those people can end up starting the faction before you purge/kick them out if thats a thing you do

Universal ethics drift isn't as good as specific though if you're only looking for one ethic in particular.

True it can end up spawn factions you don't want, but they are easy to keep happy if you give them better than normal living standards and get the paradise dome on each planet and don't do something to actually piss one off

Keep make your pops attracted to authoritarian ethic until they form faction i think? Here are some factor that affect their attraction to authoritarian:

Also change your authority to imperial makes your pops love authoritarian more, evade good living standard because it will make your pops dislike authoritarian

Abduct decadent, or create decadent pops if you have the proper tech.
