What's the Maximum Research Roman Number?
._. Haven't played for a long long time since it's debut launch and played countless hours.
I'm seeing so many changes literally that I barely recognize what does what.
Though my biggest question would be the Research.
How many times can one research the same thing?

Some repeatable techs have "max level" ,while others which have "level = -1" can be research infinite amount of times

o.O Infinite... Do they even know the Roman Numbers to even hit the Infinite?
Also Stats wise, thats going to be game breaking right?

You would have to play a really long game to get to that point. Each time you research a repeatable technology the price increases.

Huh true.
Oh, well, Thx :) Hope I can get back with all the new changes.
Thank fully they took away that Travel system where you get 3 types of Travel Mode.

Technically there is 4 now. :P

Hyperlanes, Natural Wormholes, Gateways, and Jump/Psi Jump Drives.

At least they are Researchable XD The Old System was fked up.
Especially Gateway Travel. I regret taking that before and I was unable to explore freely unless I build the Space Station to travel.

the repeatables are more expensive now. the first few iterations used to be fairly cheap before 2.0, but now they all start at 25,000 base cost or something (ie. even the first one is already more expensive than any of the normal, unique technologies)

roman numbers are somewhat unwieldy, but not enough to be a practical issue in game. it's not like the actual number matters anyway. you already know that "shield harmonics III" will have the same effect as "shield harmonics I" and "shield harmonics II". and "shield harmonics MCDXCIV" will have the exact same effect.
Oh so they are just pointless to research then as they no offer any stat increase?

No it's +5% each time, and for strike craft it's +10% each time. For increased leader/Core System Planets/Sectors it's +1 each time. For Leader Lifespan I think it's +10, but it might be +5 years. For Energy and Mineral Production it's +5% each time

There is a benefit to researching, it's just not a whole lot at once. It does add up though, having Arc Emitters shooting like full auto machine guns is a sight to behold.

Lol XD Alright, Ill take that offer.

they increase stats just fine. for example each level of "shield harmonics" adds +5% shield HP. so at rank 1 you have +5% and at rank 100 you'd have +500%.

:3 I got like 7 hours of gameplay Im already on my CCVI shield research.. lol Roman Numerals: CCVI = 206. I centered my main research around shields because they regenerate and dont require resources to repair.. shields + flee combat = ownage. basicly kill off a few ships and whittle them down.. I can useually take out 4 cruisers at a time with my 20 corvettes they also use siphons and tech V AC's

In theory you can research them an infinite amount of times, but in reality you'll run into integer overflow and not be able to research them anymore at a certain level.
