Explain me this please
I was in a defencive pact and got dragged into war. I defended and beat the enemy by takeing some of his outposts and crushing his army. He raided trough my system fast and took some of my outpost too. So he reached 100% warexhaustion way long before me, many month/years, but since I wasnt the main attacker/defender (I was dragged into it through a defencive pact) I could force anything when he reached 100 % WE. At the end i also reached 100 % W.E and then the enemy forced something and he got my occupied outpost and I didnt get anything? I won the war but lost the battle? How am I supposed to play this game?

In order to keep systems that are occupied after a ceasefire, you have to make claims on them, which costs influence. So he had made claims on your systems, occupied them, and when you made peace, you ceded to his claims.

You wait for the patch - while you watch your ships drudge like snails through the systems.

Or use mods. Or both.

But I crushed his fleet years before I reached W.E. Its so illogicall that he will end up winning........ I dont want his systems, I just dont want to loose mine, and I shouldnt. He was running around my systems with 1 k fleet against mine 5 k fleet, and blitzed my systems then suddenly he force something and won my systems.

Just search the mods for WE

Mods.. Are you kidding me....Maybe the old combat system pre 2.0 was tedious, but at least I understood what was happening. This is just stupid, I loose my precious systems even though I crushed my enemy, simple as that. I cannot claim my own systems can I before they are attacked? So if I dont want his but he wants mine, and he runs around grabing starbases with 100 % W.E (I was dragged into the war with a pact) and get systems out of it, even though his main force got crushed like a bug. I was hunting his army more than i was in pre 2.0 with 3 ftl types

Its working like this: Enforce demands, the leftmost option, is the best outcome. This is only possible if you really stomp the enemy. most of the time you will get the middle option. Status quo. This means not a white peace like a draw. You all accept changing occupied systems. A sytem is occupied if the enemy kills the outpost/starbase. If the system has a planet, he must occupy ALL planets in the system and the outpost. First rule in the new war system: don' trade systems for killing an enemy fleet. not worth it.

btw you don't need claims in your own system. Just take it back in time before the war ends.

The problem I couldnt choose any demands I was force into it nor when the war should and, he could. So when he was satisfied with the system switch he could enforce status quo.

If you don't want to lose your systems then your job is easy: defend them, and they can't take them from you. (I mean, your ally could surrender, but it sounds like all that happened was a status quo when you reached 100% exhaustion.)

how can I defend 10 entry points into my system, well I did. But when the enemy managed to grab one, having 100 % WE for years he found it convienently to call status quo

That true, as a defender you can't make claims. you have to make them before he attacks you or you have to be the attacker.

Sounds like he out-tacticed you.

It's why people who are saying doomstacks are the way to go, are wrong. Strategy is king now; defend and attack multiple fronts, or lose on those fronts.

Just stupid. He lost almost all his armies but manage to slip a little fleet behind mine lines, and when i got somethong he called satus quo

You actually can make claims as a defender. Nobody can, however, remove claims during a war.

Yep, thas right. Doomstacking only works in overhelming the enemy fleet. But like a real war, with 2.0 you must protect your citizens too.
