Multiplayer desync, instability
Firstly, I love this game, so this is coming from a genuine place, not just a whinge.

I do love the continued efforts (both paid and free) to expand this game, but I do not remember the last time a non-LAN game was not plagued with sync issues, drop-outs, UI glitches and various other issues.

A group of us regularly try and play a multiplayer game, and honestly we can play for hours, but these issues cropping up over and over again are really killing the enthusiasm.

I know there were efforts a while ago to improve stability, but please could I ask for a renewed effort in this area ? We can't be the only ones that experience these issues, it must come up in play-testing.

If it's an issue with too many AI races and AI/fleet movements mid/late game, perhaps the scope to add all these races on giant maps should be more limited in online multiplayer?

Perhaps investigate changing the hosting model to be Cloud-based rather than relying on a player?

The de-sync issues are present ever since launch and have never been resolved. Can't say if an effort has ever been made to fix them but it's annoying as hell.
I like this game a lot and would love to play it in MP more often but it's nearly impossible as the de-sync issues cause all kinds of Ui issues (except for the host).
And the longer you continue after the first de-sync message the more Ui seems to get broken

I turned off cloud save it stopped all my instability and desync In multiplayer, also are yous playing with mods

I'm not playing with any mods. But i could try turning off cloud saves to see if it works

did you ever come to any optimistic conclusion on this? Can't play this with 5-8 friends.. it's simply unbearable right from the lobby and until we give up in anything between 5 minutes to 1 hour

we've been playing a long round of Civ 6, about to go back to this. We assumed it'd be better after the 2.6.0 update?

2.6.3 BETA BRANCH supposedly solves some issues with multiplayer. Haven't tried it yet however.

For the record: current release is 2.6.2; you can opt-in to the beta branch by right-clicking Stellaris on your Steam Library, then left-cliking Properties, then Betas, then selecting stellaris_testing. Remember to opt-out of the beta when that version is released by following the same proccess.
